Abstract
<jats:title>ABSTRACT</jats:title> <jats:p> Four <jats:italic>bla</jats:italic> <jats:sub>VIM-2</jats:sub> gene-harboring <jats:italic>Pseudomonas aeruginosa</jats:italic> strains were identified. These strains possessed a class 1 integron harboring <jats:italic>ORF1</jats:italic> , <jats:italic>bla</jats:italic> <jats:sub>VIM-2</jats:sub> , and <jats:italic>aacA4</jats:italic> gene cassettes. The transposon-mediated horizontal spread of the <jats:italic>bla</jats:italic> <jats:sub>VIM-2</jats:sub> gene among these strains was suggested, which increases the threat that the <jats:italic>bla</jats:italic> <jats:sub>VIM-2</jats:sub> gene will disseminate among diverse genera of bacteria. </jats:p>
