抄録

Recently, by means of microthermal analysis, 4-hydroxyisophthalic acid was found to be formed as an intermediate in both carboxylation of alkali phenolates and rearrangement of alkali salicylates into alkali p-hydroxybenzoates. The thermodynamic studies based on th e argument for the chemical equilibrium suggested in the previous paper were made by using the thermochemical data estimated from the additive nature of the component data.<BR>It was found that many experimental facts were interpreted well in terms of the results obtained by these studies.
