抄録

Female quails 300 days old weighing 100g were used after confirmed to have been infected with the tapeworm, Metroliasthes coturnix, in the small intestine. When administered with 50 and 100mg/kg of bithionol, they showed a rate of worm expulsion of 62.5 and 100%, respectively. When 150 and 200mg/kg of the drug were administered, this rate was 100% for both doses. Worms were expelled mostly with in 24 hours after administration. As a side effect, watery diarrhea was observed for 3 days after administration.
