抄録

Oborodukiyo and Genji revived their love after fifteen years' absence in Wakana-Jyo of The Tales of Genji. However, this episode is clearly out of the main plot, such as the marriage between Onnasannomiya and Genji. Why is the reunion of these two people described? It reconfirms the psychological gap Genji and Oborodukiyo, who thinks about how to live in the future while looking back her past and present. Oborodukiyo thought in her own way for seven years, and then finally left home to become a nun. This process is not described in the story. However the information about Oborodukiyo's way of life sharpens the main theme of this story, and the difficulties of woman's life, as well as the agony of Murasakinoue that is described in the story.

『源氏物語』若菜上巻で、朧月夜と源氏は、十五年ぶりに恋愛関係を復活させる。しかし、この話は、女三の宮の降嫁など、物語の主要な話の流れからは明らかに外れている。どうして、ここで、二人の再会は描かれるのだろうか。朧月夜は、これにより、源氏との心理的な断絶を改めて確認し、自分の「過去」や「現在」を見つめなおすとともに、将来いかに生きるべきかを考えた。そして七年後、朧月夜はついに出家する。彼女が思念を深めて行く過程は不明だが、描き出される紫の上の底知れぬ苦悩に加え、朧月夜の生き方も、「女の生きがたさ」の主題を深めているのである。
