抄録

This report cleared the contents of the planning guide of secondary homemaking education in New York State and compared with Japanese secondary homemaking course of study compiled in 1948-1949. By the analysis of them, the results were as follows: 1. As compare the New York State planning guide (homemaking 2,3) and secondary homemaking course of study in Japan, many similarities were seen in both structure and contents as well as the case of homemaking 1. 2. The learning experience in the homemaking curriculum of New York was not structured in subject areas and cognition levels. The Japanese course of study had similar problems. 3. In 1953 an addendum version was taken out about the curriculum of New York. The new curriculum structured by the idea of concepts and generalizations was published in 1965. Japanese revised homemaking course of study in 1961 and 70 were not influenced by it.
