抄録

This study aims to clarify the modification of exterior mortar walls of detached houses in suburban estates which were supplied in the mass-housing period in Japan. Through a visual investigation of all exterior walls in a suburban estates developed in 1977-78 in Urayasu and a questionnaire to the residents, we obtained the past-present condition and changing process of the exterior walls by refurbish or rebuilding. Many mortar walls still remain the same, but dry construction walls were gradually replacing them in over 30 years.
