抄録

<p>The shaft power of an Archimedes screw water turbine was predicted through presented calculation by using the static pressure acting on the blades in the case of a constant runner diameter and constant runner revolution speed. It was confirmed that the theoretical shaft power obtained from this calculation was equal to the hydraulic power obtained from both the net head and the flowrate obtained through this calculation. When the shaft diameter was set to 60% of the runner outer diameter, the flowrate through the turbine was found to reach the maximum value. This means the theoretical shaft power also can be maximum value in this shaft diameter ratio. Further, when the inclination of the shaft is 21°, the maximum value of the shaft power was found to increases with increase in the number of blades. Under the same condition blade pitch that yielded the maximum shaft power was also found to increase.</p>
