We report two cases of skin manifestations over the infused area by intraarterial infusion of anti-cancer drugs. Case 1. A 67-year-old man with liver metastasis of colon cancer received 250mg of 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) every day into the aorta, and a month later developed erythemas with blisters over the area of the right 11th intercostal artery. Case 2. A 58-year-old woman with left breast cancer received left subclavicular artery infusions of 2500mg of 5-FU (250 mg/day) and 20mg of doxorubicin (10mg/week), and 10 days later developed extensive erythemas with blisters or ulcers on the left breast, shoulder, arm and hand. The skin lesions in these two cases disappeared within 1-2 months after discontinuation of arterial chemotherapy, leaving subsequent pigmentation.
