We report a case of immunoblastic lymphadenopathy with abnormal γ1-heavy chain of molecular mass of 38 kDa in the serum and urine. The homodimer (72kDa) of the γ1-heavy chain was also detected in the serum. Isoelectric points of abnormal γ1-heavy chain ranged from 6.8 to 5.8, which were changed toward the neutral pH upon treatment with sialidase. N-Terminal amino acid sequence of 32kDa band obtained by treatment with papain was in accord with positions from 120 to 136 of myeloma protein Eu sequence. Molecular mass of normal γ-heavy chain was 55kDa, but abnormal γ1-heavy chain was 38kDa. This indicates the deficit of 17 kDa peptide in the abnormal γ1-heavy chain. These data suggest that this protein lacks most of the V region and the CH1 region.
