Abstract

We report a case of malignant schwannoma with von Recklinghausen's disease. He was pointed out café-au-lait spot at 1-year-old and neurofibromatosis at 16-years-old. And he had epilepsy at 14-years-old. Painful subcutaneous tumor appeared on his left aspect of back and rappidly increased in size. We operated the tumor by simple resection. That was histopathologically malignant schwannoma.<BR>Then, we made immunohistochemical study to this tumor. A few tumor cells revealed positive reaction by S-100 protein. Almost all tumor cells were positively stained by neuron specific enolase (NSE), myelin basic protein (MBP) and vimentin.
