内容説明

These two volumes of proceedings mark the 15th anniversary of the International Conference on Boundary Elements (BEM XV) which was held at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute in August 1993. The meeting attracted over 100 participants and the edited versions of the papers are arranged here in two volumes and the following sections: diffusion problems, fluid flow, fluid dynamics, wave problems, acoustics, dual and multiple reciprocity methods, inverse problems, hypersingular integrals, numerical aspects, adaptive techniques, accuracy and error techniques, stress analysis, plates and shells, contact mechanics, damage tolerance, vibrations, geomechanics, optimization and coupling problems. The first conference in the series was held in Southampton in 1978 and it is the recognized and established forum for innovations in boundary element research. The conference has established an outstanding reputation for attracting speakers from universities, research institutions, and industry throughout the world. Many new developments in BEM on a wide variety of topics are contained in these proceedings which should be of great interest to theoreticians and practising engineers alike. The book also includes a series of invited papers and two keynote addresses from leading figures in the field.
