Description

This work analyzes American and Soviet efforts since World War II to develop and carry out co-operative arrangements for improving various aspects of their overall security relationship. The pursuit of arms control is examined in detail as are other efforts at managing the superpower relationship, including the search for stability and a balance of power. The book consists of 21 case studies, each examining an aspect of successful or unsuccessful co-operation, taking into account missed opportunities, and casting new light on post-war superpower relations.
