内容説明
This book focuses on a detailed description of modern methods for the study of neuropeptides used in leading laboratories. Specific topics discussed include molecular genetic techniques, in_situ hybridization, immunocytochemistry, ultrastructure morphometry, and measurement of neuropeptide release in_vivo and in_vitro. The book also covers biochemical and electrophysiological (including patch clamp) techniques for investigating neuropeptide-receptor interactions and second messenger systems. These cellular and biochemical approaches lead finally to a review of methods for studying whole animal behaviour. Focusing on a detailed description of modern methods used in laboratory studies, the book examines biochemical and electrophysiological techniques and discusses such topics as molecular genetic techniques, in situ hybridization and immunocytochemistry. The text concludes with a review of methods for studying whole animal behaviour.
