Each example introduces new Prolog concepts and illustrates how Prolog can be used to solve different types of problems. Important features include: Basic Prolog concepts; programming style; debugging techniques; database manipulation; symbolic logic and logical games; understanding natural language; writing interpreters and compilers; prototyping; expert systems; inductive learning; glossary of logic programming. Many exercises (and worked solutions) are included for self- assessment. Both authors have considerable experience in the Artificial Intelligence field and in the teaching of computer languages.
