Designed for introductory courses in quantitative analysis, quantitative methods, management science, or quantitative models, this text presents a comprehensive survey of widely used mathematical tools, fully integrated with the personal computer. The fourth edition combines the instructor's manual and the text in a single volume. It includes solved problems at the end of appropriate chapters The chapter on forecasting now contains work on trend-adjusted exponential smoothing, seasonality, standard errors of the estimate and monitoring and controlling the forecast. There is coverage of the karmarket method in linear programming, as well as of expert systems and artificial intelligence. There are chapters on assignment and transportation, and output from popular software programs (Lindo, Storm, Supertree, Expert choice etc) in addition to the accompanying software, AB-QM. End-of-chapter computer problems are now available on a separate data disk. Nine video segments, ranging from 15-30 minutes, are now available to adopters. These cover such topics as LP, simulation, dynamic programming and inventory.
