内容説明

This study is concerned with global long-term development. It examines the situation since the end of World War II and attempts to draw lessons for the future from the experiences of these years. After an introduction which provides empirical material on aspects of global development as well as issues related to domestic development processes in Third World countries, the chapters fall into three sections. The first section studies the problem at the global level. Then the experiences of the newly industrialized countries (which are regarded as having been fairly successful) are analyzed. The final section looks at the case of some of the least developed countries, sometimes called the "Fourth World", for whom the post-war experience has been considerably less positive.
