内容説明

Efforts of many workers in the field of Pain research over the past few years to design novel analgesics have, unfortunately not significantly increased the availability of real new drugs for the pharmacological treatment of pain. Morphine (or related agonists) remains the most effective remedy to relieve severe pain, despite some very real progress made in pain management over the past decade. The development of new experimental models of clinical pain appears to be essential. Many data suggest great potential for using the noradrenergic modulation either at central or even at peripheral levels. However it appears from the present book, that basic scientists and clinicians should be prudent before definitive conclusions. A detailed listing of the papers provided in this publication is provided hereunder.
