This book deals with most of the relevant problems of pediatric otolaryngology. Its main subject being inflammation, the book presents information on: the place of antibiotics, ventilating tubes and adenoidectomy; the problem of mastoiditis; cochlear implants in prelingual children; the accuracy and specificity of tympanometry; the gaseous partial pressures in the middle ear and mechanisms of negative pressures; the immunological mechanism concerning upper respiratory infections; problems of tonsils adenoids; pediatric aspects of laryngology and rhinology; and otitis media.
