Description

This primer is intended for primary care physicians and other "nonspecialists" who need to recognize children's cardiovascular problems. A sound overview of the clinical examination for a child, various diagnostic procedures (echocardiography, electrocardiogram), surgical and nonsurgical therapies, and specific coronary diseases including coronary artery disease and congenital heart defects is provided. This text goes beyond the "basic" knowledge, but is not intended for the highly specialized physician. It offers a wealth of information on paediatric cardiology that will be of great use to the "gatekeepers" of paediatric medicine.
