内容説明
The aim of this book is to present current recommendations on orthopaedic management of spina bifida cystica. Knowledge and understanding of this condition have changed considerably in the last decade, and this book draws together the expertise and experience of clinicians at The Royal Children's Hospital, Melbourne. The role of the orthopaedic surgeon in spina bifida cystica is to encourage a pattern of development in the child as near normal as possible. The many factors which influence the pattern of development of each child are examined in detail. This new edition of Malcolm Menelaus' classic work on spina bifida cystica incorporates many changes. One of the most important changes is the new understanding of the aetiology of deformity, and the consequences for operative management. Other major developments affecting clinical practice have been in the areas of neurosurgical imaging and gait analysis. Menelaus' Orthopaedic Management of Spina Bifida Cystica 3/e provides an invaluable reference for current clinical management of this condition.
