"The Dynamic Cell" is a new concept in the teaching of cell biology, depicting the cell in a series of animated 3-dimensional scenes. By clicking with the mouse on structures within the scenes, 'illustrated records' (pop-up screens) appear with animations, simulations, zoomed views, video clips or still pictures, accompanied by a short, descriptive text. Students are thus taken on a visual tour of the cell and introduced to cellular structures and processes in an interactive and entertaining way.
