Description and Table of Contents

Description

Euzkadi ta Askatasuna (Basque Fatherland and Liberty), or ETA, is its acronym. This group, formed in 1959, is one of the oldest West European terrorist structures still continuing its attacks on Spain and in France in the name of Basque nationalism. The purpose of this book is not to glorify the ETA. Rather, it is designed to provide an easily accessible reference for academics, policy makers, reporters and other interested individuals on one of the most notorious terrorist groups. The volume exposes much of the ETA's mystique and thereby places it in perspective as one of the many challenges facing the international community in the 21st Century.
