Description

This collection brings together for the first time a series of papers that focus exclusively on the history of various governmental and academic organizations that have played important roles in the nation's water resources and environmental activities. Papers address such topics as environmental engineering history and developments, hydraulic engineering pioneers, Bureau of Reclamation history and developments, university water and hydraulic education/research, hydrology and water resources planning, a river history summary, formation of the Environmental and Water Resources Institute (EWRI), and history of ASCE technical divisions and codes/standards activities.
