内容説明
Ford is one of the most famous names in automobile manufacture around the world. Henry Ford was responsible for introducing the car to the masses, developing the first inexpensive automobile that could be afforded by the ordinary man in the street - and introducing the principles of mass production. He founded his manufacturing company in America in 1903, so in 2003 the Ford Corporation will be celebrating its centenary. This wonderful book reveals its full history, from the days of Henry Ford, through to its development into the massive corporation we know today. As well as the American side of the story, the text will also cover the history of the company abroad, including their factories in the United Kingdom. As well as telling the history of Ford itself, the text will also cover some of the famous automobile designers and stylists associated with the company, including Edsel Ford, Henry's son. All the landmark Ford models, such as the Model T, the Mustang and the Thunderbird, are specially featured, with stunning pictures, the history of their development and detailed specifications.
As well as specially-commissioned colour photographs, the illustrations also include hundreds of archive pictures, historical adverts and line drawings. It will become an undisguised work of nostalgia for those interested in the development of car design throughout the last century and will also be the essential reference work for all automobile enthusiasts, since the automobile industry developed as it is largely due to the efforts of Henry Ford.
