炭酸ガスアーク溶接のタンデム化は施工能率の向上に大きな効果があるが、アーク干渉によるアーク不安定とスパッタの多発が課題とされている。この課題に対して、極性の影響を調査し、同極の組み合わせに対して異極の組み合わせとすることでアークが反発、安定化するとの知見を得た。
