    ディーゼルエンジンの熱効率向上を狙い、ピストンからの冷却損失低減技術を研究中である。冷却損失低減と体積効率低下による煙悪化の抑制を両立する方法として、燃焼室壁面の一部に遮熱膜を施す方法を考案し、数値シミュレーションとエンジン実機評価から効果を検証した。結果、冷却損失を低減しつつ煙の抑制効果を得た。

    JIS2号軽油の噴霧燃焼モデリング手法を提案し、LESおよびRANSにおける着火遅れ時間の推定値の不確かさを系統的に解析した。噴霧ペネトレーションや燃料蒸留曲線への各種モデルの合わせ込みや化学反応モデル自体の不確かさ、およびそれらが最終結果に与える感度を分析した結果、着火遅れ時間の推定値の不確かさは化学反応モデルに起因するところが大きいことが明らかになった。
