フェイクニュースの蔓延が世界的な問題となっている。本稿はインターネットがもたらした情報環境を概観し、フェイクニュースに立ち向かう手段としてメディアリテラシー教育に着目する。本学日本語コミュニケーション学科の必修授業における取り組みとそこで得られた成果を報告し、短期大学をはじめとする高等教育機関において、学生のメディアリテラシー能力を高めることがフェイクニュース対策に有用であることを示す。
