    霧島山に分布する湧水中のラドン濃度を測定し,その空間分布及び季節変化について検討を行った。ラドン濃度が高い湧水は標高160~482m,761~1063mに分布し,中期~後期更新世の火山岩類で多く見られた。7地点の湧水でラドン濃度の季節変化が認められ,その要因について検討した結果,降雨浸透や火山ガスの影響ではなく,湧出点の近傍における地下水の流動状況の変化が影響している可能性が示唆された。
