抄録

We prepared Bi₂Sr₂CaCu₂O_y (BSCCO) single crystals by a self flux method and heated them in air, Ar gas and O₂ gas. Then, we investigated their surface compositions and chemical bond natures of constituent elements by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). From the results, we found that the carbon and the impurity oxygen on the BSCCO single crystal surfaces were efficiently removed by the heat-treatments in air and O₂ gas, and that the chemical bond natures of Cu, Sr and O did not change.
