This paper proposes a new algorithm for particle pairing between two tracer images with a constant time interval to obtain velocity fields. The algorithm is carried out using Genetic Algorithms which are search algorithms based on the mechanics of natural selection and natural genetics. The algorithm adopts a fitness function which evaluates similarity between respective small particle patterns in the two tracer images and then is applied to a uniform flow with constant velocity vectors. After thousands of generations, the algorithm gives correct velocity fields.
