Abstract

Theoretical analyses for the spherically three layered shell system were carried out to survey problems in realizing the high pressure resonance method. It became apparent that the intermediate layer of a gas makes the distribution of oscillating energy almost localize in each part of the system. Eigenfrequencies of the gas modes have enormous pressure dependence, and intersect traces of the specimen and container modes. In such a intersect between spheroidal modes, partitioning of energy occurs gradually with pressure, and this phenomena cause peculiar deviation in calculated frequencies. Results show that a thinner width of the gas layer may remove experimental difficulty.
