Abstract

Armature winding of a small sized three-phase a. c. machine is preferably used with a single-layered and full pitched coils, in order to reduce manufacturing cost. But, this winding produces a great deal of the higher harmonic components of the magnetic field and causes stray losses, magnetic noises and parasitic torques.<br>This paper proposes the equivalent short pitch winding for the single-layered coils and the characteristics improvement.
