1995年度国産乗用車のオクタン価要求値調査結果 Octane Number Requirement Survey of 1995 Japanese Model Passenger Gars
The Sub-Committee of Octane Number Requirement (ONR) of The Japan Petroleum Institute conducted a 1995 ONR Survey to estimate the maximum ONR distributions for 1995 model cars on the road by use of maximum ONR data compiled from 104 test cars. The maximum ONR data were determined by means of the low speed test method using both Primary Reference Fuel (PRF) and a mixed-type of unleaded Full Boiling Range Reference Fuel (FBRRF). The results of the 1995 ONR Survey are summarized below, together with pertinent information on test cars, test fuels, test method for ONR measurement and calculation procedure for determining maximum ONR distribution.
The maximum ONR of the 104 test cars ranged from 83.5 to 98.5 RON. Using those data, maximum ONR distributions were calculated for 1995 model cars on the road.
The maximum ONR distributions for 1995 model cars on the road, determined by PRF, were 91.2 and 94.8 RON, at 50% and 90% car satisfaction levels, respectively. These ONR distributions for 1995 model cars were lower than those for 1994 model cars. The trends of ONR at 50% and 90% satisfaction levels have levelled-off for 4 years since 1992. Regarding maximum ONR distributions by engine displacement, the engines, in the range of 1650-2000cc, were prone to show the highest maximum ONR.
The ONR distributions at high speeds, in the range of 80-120km/h, determined by PRF, were 90.2 and 93.5 ON, at 50% and 90% car satisfaction levels, respectively. The ONR, at high speed range, increased during the period 1991-1995, and the difference between that at low speed has become gradually smaller. Also, distribution of engine speeds, at maximum ONR values, has shifted to a higher speed range, above 2050rpm.
The maximum ONR distribution for cars requiring premium gasoline, on the road, determined by PRF, were 96.1 and 97.7 ON, at 50% and 90% car satisfaction levels, respectively.
