抄録

A rare case of cervical thymic cyst causing dyspnea is reported. A 47-year-old female consulted us with a 2-month history of an anterior neck mass and slowly developing dyspnea. A 5 x 4 cm hard mass was palpated in a suprasternal lesion. MRI demonstrated a monolobular cystic mass compressing the trachea. The cyst was removed transcervically and diagnosed pathologically as a cervical thymic cyst. After surgical resection, the patient's dyspnea improved.<br>Cervical thymic cysts are uncommon lesions that are usually asymptomatic. Mechanical obstruction of the upper airway due to cervical thymic cysts is very rare, especially in adults. MRI was the most useful tool in the evaluation of tracheal stenosis due to the presence of a cervical thymic cyst.
