Appendical mucinous cystadenoma is thought to be a common disease, but few cases of the disease have been reported with intussusception. A case with asymptomatic intussusception of appendical mucinous cystadenoma into the caecum, which was found by observation of positive fecal occult blood, was reported.<BR>A 45-year-old female was admitted to our hospital due to submucosal tumor-like polypoid lesion in the caecum. Abdominal CT scan and ultrasonography revealed a cystic mass in the ileocaecal region. Furthermore, MRI examination showed intussusception of swollen appendix contents, which were considered to be mucin, into the caecum. Therefore, the diagnosis was mucinous Cystadenoma or cystadenocarcinoma of the appendix, and ileocaecal resection with dissection of a regional lymph node of the appendix was performed. As for the resected specimen, appendiculara root enlarged like a cyst, which contained mucin, and was histopathologically diagnosed as mucinous Cystadenoma.
