Currently, some of transportation systems that are in the field of the Factory Automation (FA) and Logistics practically uses direct linear motors as to driving actuator instead of conventional rotary motors. For those transportation systems, linear Induction motor (LIM) is used in popular. Recently, that systems requires higher requirements such as higher load weight, slope, vertical guide way transportation and even positioning weight load. In this paper, we present a proposal that use of the permanent magnet type linear synchronous motor (PM-LSM) for that new transportation system. Usually, the stator of the PM-LSM is arranged continuously along to the guide way (rail). It is obvious, that discontinuously arrangement of the PM-LSM's stator is effective for cost reduction to the new transportation system. However, require some new technical points.<br>In this paper, we describe the results of the study to realize the discontinuously arranged PM-LSM for transportation system. At the first section, we study the effect of the magnetic attraction force between the primary part, silicon steel core stack, and permanent magnets installed in the secondary part. In following section, have proposed a simple synchronizing method and presented experiments results. At last section, presented some critical factor for the synchronization of that proposed method and utility of the new system..
