Pazufloxacin (PZFX) was administered to 4 patients with cervicitis, 3 patients with salpingitis, 3 patients with Bartholin's abscess, 1 patient with bartholinitis and 1 patient with post-operative stump infection, and its clinical efficacy was evaluated. The drug was clinically good in 9, and poor in 2 excluding the patient with postoperative stump infection), at a single dose of 50, 100 or 200 mg two or three times daily for 3-15 days, and the efficacy rate was 81.8%. The bacteriological response was eradicated in 6 patients, and partially eradicated in 1 patient. No side effects were observed, and γ-GTP in one patient was elevated slightly. These results suggest that PZFX is a useful antimicrobial agent for gynecological infections.
