Abstract

We report an 18-year-old man who exhibited an asymptomatic tumor at the center of the tongue. The patient had been aware of the mass for 7 years, but did not receive any treatment for it. On first examination, the tumor was approximately 12mm in diameter.<br>Under local anesthesia, the tumor was excised using a CO2 laser. Histological investigation revealed that the tumor had hyaline cartilage characteristics and was diagnosed as cartilaginous choristoma.
