Abstract

The influence of the combination of the self-etching primer and bonding agent of two commercially available self-etching systems was investigated on the adhesion of resin composite to enamel or dentin.<BR>The bond strengths were influenced by the combination of the self-etching primer and bonding agent, and the combination recommended by the manufactures did not always give the highest bond strengths. The highest bond strength to enamel were obtained by the combination of primer in the MAC-BOND II system and Σbond in the Clearfil Linerbond IIΣ system, and that to dentin was obtained by the combination of Σprimer in the Clearfil Linerbond IIΣ system and Σbond.
