Abstract

<I>Chattonella marina, Gymnodinium mikimotoi, Heterosigma akashiwo</I>による鉄 (EDTA-<SUP>59</SUP>Fe) の摂取速度を求めた.鉄の基質濃度が0.2μMでは10<SUP>-16</SUP>-10<SUP>-17</SUP>mol/cell/hのオーダーであった. Michaelis-Mentenの酵素基質飽和曲線を用い, <I>C. marina</I>と<I>G. mikimotoi</I>による最大鉄摂取速度と半飽和定数を求めたが, 摂取速度はそれぞれ2.5, 2.3×10<SUP>-15</SUP>mol/cell/hで半飽和定数はそれぞれ0.8, 0.6μMであった. なお, 本実験ではプランクトンに吸着した鉄をTi (III) 処理で除去しているため, これらの値は細胞内に取り込まれた鉄のみとみなすことが出来る.

Iron uptake rates of <I>Chattonella marina, Gymnodinium mikimotoi</I> and <I>Heterosigma akashiwo</I> were measured using radioactive EDTA-<SUP>59</SUP>Fe. Adsorbed iron on plankton was removed with a Ti (III) solution after which only intracellular iron was obtained. Order of uptake rates of the plankton in 0.2 μM Fe concentration was 10<SUP>-16</SUP>-10<SUP>-17</SUP> mol/cell/h. Maximum iron uptake rates and half-saturation constants were respectively 2.5×10<SUP>-15</SUP> and 0.8 for <I>C. marina</I> and 2.3×10<SUP>-15</SUP> mol/cell/h and 0.6 μM for <I>G. mikimoto.</I>
