抄録

Anorectal function in 4 patients of mean age 75 (range 61-83) years were studied before and after Deloreme's procedure for full thickness rectal prolapse. After a mean follow-up of 34 months, no patient had developed recurrent prolapse. There was no significant change in maximum resting anal canal pressure, but a change was found in maximum squeeze pressure after operation. The volume of first rectal sensation and the maximum tolerated rectal volume declined after the procedure, and these were associated with no di-fficulty of evacuation after the operation.
