抄録

Right ventricular protection during coronary artery bypass grafting was studied by evaluating ventricular function following the surgery. Twenty-nine patients were divided into two groups. One group had blood cardioplegia (BC group: ten cases), and the other group received crystalloid cardioplegia (CC group: 19 cases). The right ventricular stroke work index was worse 6 hrs following the operation than prior to surgery. The BC group exhibited improved protection of the right ventricle compared with the CC group. All patients were further divided into 19 patients with and 10 patients without right coronary artery stenosis. Patients with right coronary artery stenosis could not get adequate right ventricular protection. We therefore conclude that blood cardioplegia is better than crystalloid cardioplegia for right ventricular protection. Additionally myocardial protection should be meticulously performed in patients with right coronary artery disease.
