Abstract

Rectal or anal cancer associated with perianal Paget's disease is rare. We report a case of early rectal cancer (adenocarcinoma) with perianal Paget's disease in a patient who was seen at the hospital because of anal bleeding. There was neither distant nor lymph node metastasis. The patient underwent Miles' operation and has had uneventful postoperative course.
Histological diagnosis was made as of early rectal adenocarcinoma and perianal Paget's disease that was not associated with perianal sweat gland carcinoma.
Perianal Paget's disease is often associated with a rectal or anal malignant tumor, so careful attentions are necessitated in the treatment of this disease.
