A 52-year-old man was seen at the hospital because of an abdominal pain and diarrhea. An infant's fist-sized tumor was felt in the right lower abdomen and there was tenderness in the same region. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed pseudo kidney sign and multiple layer sign. Abdominal CT visualized lamellar structure like concentric cricles. With an enema study using gastrographin the patient was diagnosed as intusssception of the ileum, and was operated on. It was found during surgery that the lesion was ileoileo-colon intssusception headed by a tumor of the small intestine locating at 38 cm oral side from the ileocecal valve. After the intussusception was relieved manually, the intestinal tumor was extirpated. The extirpated tumor was a 4×3×1.5 cm semi-pedunculated polyp with a segmented nodular surface. Histopathologically it was tubulo-villous adenoma of the ileum.<br> Adenoma of the ileum is an extremely rare entity. There have been only seven cases which were clearly confirmed in the Japanese literature so far. A total of eight cases including our case are reviewed in terms of the clinical outcome.
