抄録

A case of leiomyosarcoma of the residual stomach is rare. Only 29 cases including our case, have been reported in the Japanese literature.<br> An 80-year-old man was emergently admitted to the hospital because of hematemesis. There was a previous history of undergoing a gastrectomy with Billroth I method 23 years before. Gastrointestinal examinations showed a submucosal tumor on the posterior wall of the residual stomach.<br> A total resection of the residual stomach with lymph nodes dissection was performed with a suspicion of hemorrhagic leimyosarcoma. The tumor was 5×4×4cm in size. It was diagnosed as leiomyosarcoma histopathologically. No metastasis was detected. Postoperative course was uneventful.
