抄録

A successfully operated case of left subclavian steal syndrome with a stenosis of the right subclabian artery which was caused by atherosclerosis is reported, together with a review of the literature.<br> A 62-year-old man was admitted to the hospital because of numbness of arms, double vision and swinging sensation at walking. He was confirmed to have a cerebrovascular disease with a neck bruit. Preoperative digital subtraction angiography showed a total occlusion of the left subclavian artery, a stenosis of the right subclavian artery and retrograde flow in the left vertebral artery. Finally he was diagnosed as left subclavian steal syndrome with a stenosis of the right subclavian artery. Bypass graft operation between the ascending aorta and bilateral subclavian arteries through median sternotomy and bilateral supraclavicular incisions were performed. The postoperative course was uneventful and preoperative symptoms completely disappeared, and at present, the patient is well and enjoying normal daily life.
