A case of adult intussusception caused by lipomas is reported. A 45-year-old woman was admitted to the hospital because of a right lower abdominal pain and nausea. A fist-sized tumor was palpated in the right lower abdomen. Abdominal CT demonstrated a target like appearance and two round fat-density areas in the ascending colon. Intussusception due to lipomas was suspected. High enema was ineffective and a laparotomy was performed. During surgery, the intussusception due to tumors of the ileum end was identified. Histopathological examination indicated that the tumors were benign lipoma. Adult intussusception lacks specific symptoms and the clinical course is often prolonged. CT scan is useful to visualize lipomas of the intestine causing intussusception that will contribute to make the early diagnosis of this condition.
