Abstract
A 12-year-old girl with adolescent TMJ disorder complained of trismus. The MRI revealed anterior disk displacement without reduction, and cartilage erosion at the left TMJ. We suspected that if the mandible deviated toward the deranged side in oral and postero-anterior (P-A) cephalographic findings, it would be possible to develop mandibular asymmetry in the future. They showed that the mandibular shift was corrected with disk-repositioning onlays. We observed disk re-positioning and high signal intensity on the condyle surface by MRI. This degenerated meniscus was interpreted as a sign of adaptable remodeling by treatment with diskrepositioning onlays.
