Abstract

東京都立七生養護学校では,1997,98年度文部省指定を受け,早期教育等に関する実践研究を行った.その目的は,知的発達障害を中心とした幼児の発達相談を行い,保護者や,幼稚園,保育園の指導者が,発達に問題を抱えて生活している幼児一人ひとりへの正しい理解を深め,適切な養育,最適な支援や助言ができるようにすることである.さまざまな主訴をもつ来談者に対応するため,言語や心理の専門職がこの研究活動に参加した.特に言語聴覚士(以下,ST)への期待は大きく,多方面での活動が求められた.人がよりよく生きていくために欠くことのできないことばに関する情報を発信できるSTが,教育現場の新しい試みにどのように関わり,支援できることは何であるのかをまとめ,21世紀のSTのあり方を展望した.

At the request of the Ministry of Education, Tokyo Metropolitan Nanao School for Handicapped Children conducted trial consultations about early education in 1997 and 1998. The purpose was to give advice concerning the developmental patterns among mentally disadvantaged children so that parents and supervisors at kindergartens and nursery schools could deepen their understanding of each child with a developmental disability and thereby become better able to advise, guide, and educate children in the best manner possible. In order to respond to a range of questions and problems, we assembled a staff based on the recognition that not just teachers but also experts in speech and psychology would be needed to take part in the consultations. Communication problems are an inevitable part of daily life. This study shows that speech therapists should play an important role in conveying information about speech and be able to take the initiative in a variety of situations.
