We report a case of peritoneal loose body which was indistinguishable from liver tumor because that was migrated at the right subphrenic space, together with a review of the literature. A 68-year-old man was admitted to the hospital with a traffic accident. On admission, abdominal CT demonstrated a liver tumor. After remission of the symptom and sign, further examination was conducted. But the definite diagnosis was not made. An operation was performed becausee a possibility of malignancy was not ruled out. The tumor about 2 cm in diameter was present at the liver surface (S7) and depressed hepatic parenchyma ceiled with thin pseudo-membrane. The tumor was easily extirpated. Macroscopic findings and histological examination revealed the peritoneal loose body.<br> The peritoneal loose bodies are not uncommon, and almost of them present freely in the peritoneal cavity actually. But as far as we could review the Japanese literature, there have been no case such as our case that presented defficulty in differential diagnosis from primary or metastatic liver tumor.
